Over the past few months, our Member Districts have seen several new Board Members take their seats at the dais. To assist you all during this transitional period, CARPD invites you and your Board Members to attend the CARPD Board Member Orientation - "Navigating your New Role: A Guide to Effective Board Service"!

The interactive presentation will address the unique role of a District Board Member and how one can use this opportunity to best serve their community. This training is ideal for new Board Members, but will also touch on matters relevant to even the most seasoned of electeds. Best of all...it's FREE!

Topics will also include an overview of your District's powers and duties under the California Public Resources Code, the Board's role as policymaker, and a Brown Act compliance review. Q&A and discussion to follow after the presentation.
